Botlab Wins “Most Outstanding Company” at EACOM

conference

Botlab is a software accelerator startup based in Nairobi that provides bespoke training to professionals in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and business intelligence. Founded in 2017 by Ms. Mercy Njue, the firm aims to use technology to drive innovation and enhance business processes.

Mercy joined the UK DFID-funded SheTrades in the Commonwealth programme in February 2019. So far, she has attended several online and on-site workshops, international trade fairs such as Japan IT Week and East Africa Com (EACOM), as well as a private-sector meeting. At EACOM and Japan IT Week, Botlab secured valuable trade leads and gained access to the Ugandan and Japanese markets. To topit off, Botlab was also awarded the "Most Outstanding Company" at this year’s EACOM Expo.

The company is presently promoting ICT-related training programmes among partners in a bid to increase women’s participation in IT infrastructure and data science. Once participants complete a programme, they stand to benefit from job placements made possible by Botlab’s extensive institutional network.

Reflecting on her journey as a data strategist, woman entrepreneur, and member of the SheTrades programme, Mercy remarked: “success is a series of small wins!”
