SHETRADES: Empowering Women in World Trade

United Nations headquarters, New York.
Conference room 9.

How can women be empowered in international trade?

While it will take time to achieve full economic empowerment for women, there are measures that can be taken immediately. Increasing the engagement of women in trade is worthwhile given that advancing women’s equality could add $28 trillion to global GDP by 2025 and mean better development outcomes for families and communities.
Join us at this side event, which will highlight the innovativeness and replicability of various country-led initiatives that seek to advance the role of women in the economy.
