At the WTO’s 11th Ministerial Conference, the majority of WTO Members joined the Buenos Aires Declaration on Trade and Women’s Economic Empowerment. Building on the momentum achieved by this important achievement, signatories are beginning to translate the Declaration into meaningful action.
The Workshop will look at government procurement markets and their importance for inclusive economic development.
Speakers will discuss the links between trade, government procurement and women empowerment. They will also review the role of the Government Procurement Agreement and explore the economic opportunities created by it.
Best practices and experiences of WTO Members on government procurement will also be presented.
The workshop is co-organised by Republic of Moldova, the International Trade Centre (ITC), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and the World Trade Organization (WTO).
